• Discipline and code of Conduct
Every care is taken to maintain an ideal discipline and to make it a primary part of our work culture. We believe that nothing substantive can be achieved without a true spirit of discipline. Our academic environment is nurtured on discipline. This happens to be the fore-most trait to enable us to impart quality education and to produce meritorious results. The entire code of conduct requires absolute sense of obedience and subordination to the Department Head and the Faculty concerned. However, any act of indiscipline, misconduct or irresponsible behaviour will invite strict disciplinary action, including expulsion from the Institute.
• Rules regarding attendance and leave
All students are expected to be present in the College on all working days and attend classes and other activities in full. Only when a student is regular in the class he may be able to follow the subjects of study with continuity and can show better academic performance. In order to register for the University examinations and for promotion to higher semester, the student must have a minimum of 75% attendance.
• When the attendance is less than 75%, the student can apply for condonation of attendance, provided he is having a minimum of 60% attendance. The shortage of attendance can be condoned only twice during the entire course subject to the rules and procedures prescribed by the university from time to time.
• For every subject, some percent of marks of internal assessment is set apart for attendance. These marks will be awarded in full to all students who are having 90% or more attendance for the respective subjects. The marks will be proportionately reduced when attendance is lessthan90%.
• In case of an illness or due to unavoidable reasons, leave is required permission from the class tutor or HOD should be obtained. Application for leave should be prepared using the prescribed application forms available at college store. The leave application form needs to be recommended by the parent/ guardian / local guardian (warden in the case of hostellers) whose signature is available in the college records.
• Application for ordinary leave recommended by the senior advisor should be submitted to the concerned HOD who is competent to sanction leave up to a maximum of 5 days at a time. For periods of leave beyond 5 days, the Principal will be sanctioning authority. When the period of absence is more than 3 days the students has to apply for leave on medical grounds. A medical certificate should invariably be submitted with the application. Records of medical leave sanctioned should be kept safety by the students.
• Students are eligible for duty leave if they perform certain kinds of duty for the College. Duty leave is to be recommended by the faculty members who are authorized to do so. Duty leave will be granted by the Principal. Duty leave application should be submitted to the Principal, preferably before the duty is performed. The respective group advisors also must be informed about the leave granted. The duty leave is limited to a maximum of 10% of the number of working days in a semester (normally 7 days in a semester). Late submission of duty leave will not be entertained.
• During the PTA meeting held after each internal examination, attendance report till the end of series test will be published by the group advisor. Those who are having shortage of attendance in each subject are thus brought into notice of parents and they are restricted from taking leave further. Once the semester ends, final attendance (including duty leave already sanctioned) will be published and forwarded to University. Only those who have a minimum of 75% attendance or eligibility for condonation of attendance will be eligible to register for the examinations. Others will have to repeat the semester by obtaining permission from the University and paying the required tuition fee as per the rules existing at that time.
• The application for condonation of shortage of attendance should be accompanied by documents in support of days of leave already sanctioned to him during the semester. For this, it is essential that leave applications are to be submitted in time, get it sanctioned and kept safely by the students. If leave is not applied in time, condonation application forms will not be recommended by the Principal.
